At Gate Cottage, you're part of the family
Gate Cottage welcomed its first residents in 1990. It was family-run then by the husband and wife team of Michael and Brenda, and today their son Mark and daughter Jo are proud to carry on the family tradition, bringing the care and attention to detail that only comes with years of experience.
The staff here share our commitment to first class care, and some have been part of the Gate Cottage family for more than 15 years.
Currently Gate Cottage is managed by daughter Jo and her deputies Tracey and Georgia. All are dedicated to creating an environment that puts exceptional care front and centre, while at the same time making Gate Cottage feel like a place where you can enjoy life, build friendships and create new memories. In short, a place that feels like home.
It takes a special kind of person to join the team at Gate Cottage and they need very specific attributes – a commitment to care, understanding, patience, kindness and enthusiasm. We also welcome all ages into our team so residents get the benefit of youth and experience.
Everyone’s different, and we pride ourselves on remembering that one size doesn’t fit all. Our residents are individuals with their own likes and dislikes, and we treat you accordingly.
New arrivals at Gate Cottage quickly become part of the family, mixing freely with fellow residents and staff alike. We’ll help you settle in too, so you can enjoy our facilities and everything that Rottingdean and the surrounding area has to offer.
We take pride in our home. It’s a special place for us and we hope to make it a special place for you too.
Words will never be able to describe how grateful I am for the high standard of care you all gave my aunt. Not only did you support her in her time of need, you also supported me in mine. That I will be forever grateful.
